The Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani has vehemently denied the alleged endorsement of candidates to be voted for in the 2027 general elections.
A statement by the Commissioner for Information, Ahmed Maiyaki, dismissed the report as false, misleading and a fabrication by its authors, even as it urged members of the public to disregard the report in its entirety.
The statement further clarified that the governor has neither endorsed nor given preferential support to any individual seeking elective office.
According to the statement, Governor Sani remains committed to democratic principles and believes in a transparent, fair and inclusive process that allows party members and stakeholders to determine candidates through the constitutionally established mechanisms of the party.
“The attention of the Kaduna State Government has been drawn to a misleading message circulating on social media alleging that Governor Uba Sani has endorsed certain aspirants for elective positions. This claim is entirely false and should be disregarded,” the statement said.
It said that the governor is currently focused on governance and the implementation of policies and programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people of Kaduna State, rather than engaging in premature political endorsements.
The government also warned individuals and groups against the deliberate spread of fake news and politically motivated misinformation, noting that such actions could create unnecessary tension within the political environment and mislead members of the public.
The commissioner urged political actors, supporters and members of the public to verify information from credible and official sources before sharing it, stressing that responsible communication remains essential for maintaining peace and political stability in the state.
He reaffirmed that Governor Sani would continue to respect the democratic rights of all aspirants and party members while ensuring that due process and the rule of law guide political activities in the state.
