The case continues to stir the coulisses of the judiciary. Following the rejection of the deliberative debate in the defamation case against the Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko against Mame Mbaye Niang, former coordinator of Prodac, the situation has suddenly deteriorated. In a particularly virulent declaration, the head of government confronted some of the magistrates of the Supreme Court. These proposals have rapidly triggered a wave of disapproval, including in the judiciary. As the controversy continued to flare up, attempts to disarm it were made discreetly by the Prime Minister’s entourage, according to information obtained by L’Observateur. The services of the Primature had thus contacted the bureau of the Union of Senegalese Magistrates (UMS), which had remained silent until then in the face of the controversial outings of Ousmane Sonko.
