After months of strikes, the Collective of Doctors, Pharmacists and Dental Surgeons (COMES) announced on Monday 7 July the suspension of its protest movement. This decision follows commitments made by the authorities concerning the improvement of their professional status. In order to ensure the respect of the commitments made, the collective announces the establishment of a rigorous monitoring and control mechanism. This monitoring will make it possible to evaluate regularly the progress made and to identify possible obstacles. “If the results are not as expected, we reserve the right to use all means of struggle to combat this injustice which has lasted too long”, warns COMES, which relies on the unity of its members to maintain pressure on the authorities.
