​Fdsut: between suspicions of nepotism and opaque management, Fatou Blondin Diop under the fire of criticism 

  Since her appointment in June 2024 to head the Fonds de développement du service universel des télécommunications (Fdsut), Ndèye Fatou Diop Blondin has faced fierce internal criticism, including from Les Échos. The journal indicates that she is accused of nepotism, of recruitments deemed irregular, and is the object of disputes for a qualified management of opaque resources. The most cited example concerns the rental of a vehicle a 4×4 Toyota Prado invoiced at 118 000 FCFA per day for more than two months – an expense deemed excessive and contrary to a presidential decree of 2021 regulating the use of official vehicles. In addition, a part of the staff denounces the restrictive measures against trade union delegates, perceived as an unjustified targeting, according to the same source. Faced with these accusations, Les Échos relays the reaction of Ndèye Fatou Diop Blondin, who categorically rejects these allegations. In a note dated 30 June, it states that recruitment is in accordance with the regulations and based on merit. From abroad, where she is on an official mission, she ensures that the management of the FDSU respects the administrative rules in force and that “there can be no question of favoritism”. At the same time, a judicial procedure for abusive dismissal has been initiated by an employee on an indefinite-term contract, dismissed without official cause. After the failure of a conciliation attempt, the dossier was brought before the tribunal, souligne l’interlocuteur du quotidien d’information.
