Senegal’s exports are on a good dynamic. This is shown by the report of the statistical references of April 03, published on 9 July 2025 by the Agence nationale de statistique et de la démographie (Ansd). The trade balance of Senegal amounted to -149.9 billion FCFA in April 2025 against -127.7 billion FCFA in the previous month, an increase of 22.2 billion FCFA. This increase in the deficit, explained by the Agence nationale de la statistique et de la démographie (Ansd), is due to an increase in imports of 83,5 billion FCFA, more pronounced than those of exports estimated at 58,3 billion FCFA in the month under review. “The good dynamics of exports is attributable to the rise in those of petroleum products (+ 210.27 billion FCFA), other products (+ 220.25,220.225 billion FCFA), crude oil (+ 21.20 billion FCFA) and sea products (+ 83.28 billion FCFA) “, reads the report of the ANSD published on Wednesday. However, it is important to note according to the same source that this good trend of exports has been attenuated by that of non-monetary gold (-27.27 billion FCFA). As far as imports are concerned, the increase is linked to that of other petroleum products (+ 30.0 billion FCFA), rice (+ 25.9 billion FCFA), froment and metal (+ 12.2 billion FCFA) and metal products (+ 73.8 billion FCFA). A decrease of 10.7 billion FCFA in total state revenue. However, on the side of public finances, on note un recul des recettes.
