The home-based Super Eagles players, including Godwin Obaje, Hadi Haruna, and Kabiru Mohammed, are preparing for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN). Last week, Eric Chelle’s team began training in Ikenne for the biennial tournament. Currently, 28 players are competing for a spot on the final roster. Rangers forward Godwin Obaje emphasized that the team is dedicated and eager to perform well in the competition, stating, “We are all like brothers, as we are familiar with each other from various clubs.” “It’s quite typical for us to encounter ourselves in this situation,” Obaje commented to the Super Eagles media. “I am eager for the tournament to begin.” I am ready, and we must put forth our utmost effort. It’s important to recognize that Nigeria is among the top countries in Africa. “We are getting ready exceptionally well.” Algeria’s coach Benstiti commented on the match against the Super Falcons, stating, ‘We demonstrated tactical maturity’ following the draw. Haruna Hadi from Remo Stars supported Obaje’s perspective, highlighting his significant contribution to the Sky Blue Stars’ championship victory last season. Hadi expressed that taking part in the CHAN would serve as an important opportunity for his career, stating, “I am aware of the value I can bring.” I am committed, concentrated, and prepared to dedicate myself fully to the team. Playing for the Super Eagles and being a part of the CHAN has always been my aspiration.
