Brigitte Macron brought the case before the Court of Cassation after the relaxation, last Thursday, by the Court of Appeal of Paris, of the two women at the origin of a rumor affirming that she would be a transgender woman. Her lawyer, Mr Jean Ennochi, confirmed the appeal after the cour d’appel had ruled that only certain statements were covered by the law on the press, granting the benefit of good faith to the accused. In 2021, Amandine Roy and Natacha Rey had circulated a viral video accusing the First Lady of having lied about her identity, affirming that she would be in reality her brother Jean-Michel Trogneux after a transition. In the first instance, the two women had been found guilty of defamation and sentenced to suspended fines and to pay damages. Brigitte Macron and her brother are now relaxed and expecting a cassation.
