Bode George, a leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), expressed his surprise regarding the alliance formed by Peter Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, and Atiku Abubakar, the ex-Vice President, in anticipation of the 2027 election. During an interview on Channels TV Thursday, Bode George criticized their decision to partner with a party he referred to as “a sinking ship.” He charged Atiku and other prominent members of the PDP, who have switched to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), with instigating the turmoil within the opposition party. He remarked, “Those responsible for the PDP crisis are the ones departing.” Next week, we will convene our NEC meeting, where we will go over the party’s agenda. “We will finalize the committees responsible for organizing the party convention. “Our ability to hold this meeting shows that the Iroko tree has revived. “I am astonished that Obi, Atiku, and others are boarding a ship that is already taking on water.” On Wednesday, Atiku officially left the PDP and joined the ADC, referencing the ongoing crisis as his reason.
