In the face of the circulation on social networks of videos and images showing candidates for the Brevet de Fin d’Études Moyennes (BFEM) in possession of proofs, the Ministry of National Education has published a communiqué to “enlighten public opinion”. In this text made public yesterday, Thursday, le ministère revient d’abord sur le dispositif de sécurisation mis en place depuis 2024 pour prévenir toute fuite. “The corrections are transmitted electronically to the inspectors of the academy, progressively and only after the end of each test”, the communiqué states. The cases identified concern “18 candidates at Louga and 6 at Mbour”, i.e. 26 students in total, found with “corrigés en manuscrits et non avec les corrigés officiels qui portent le cachet de la Direction des Examens et Concours (DEXCO) “. The Ministry is trying to relativise the scope of these incidents: they represent only “0.012%” of the 188 151 candidates who applied this year. These acts have been treated according to the regulations in force. “They have been administered, in accordance with the instructions governing the examination, by the presidents of the jury in coordination with the inspectors of education and training (IEF) and the inspectors of the academy (IA) “, the ministry adds. While describing these cases as “isolated facts” which “have had no impact on the overall smooth running of the examination”, the Ministry of National Education calls for “responsibility and prudence in the processing and dissemination of information related to the management of national examinations”. He warned: “Any misinformation risks compromising the efforts made to guarantee transparency”. Finally, the Ministry reaffirms “its commitment to shed full light on the facts reported”, specifying that further information will be given “in due course, through official channels”.
