The National Alliance of Trade Unions of Territorial Collectivities (ANSTC) denounces the protocol recently signed between the Senegalese Government and the Inter-Syndical Union of Territorial Collectivities. In a communiqué issued on 18 July, the Alliance refers to a “protocol of compromise” and expresses its deep disappointment at an agreement which, according to it, leaves a majority of workers on the road. On 10 July last, the Minister of Urban Planning, Local Government and Territorial Planning, Moussa Bala Fofana, had announced an integral salary increase, aligned to the public service grid. This increase covers amounts ranging from FCFA 80 000 to FCFA 300 000 for 1115 officials. Faced with what it considers a betrayal, the ANSTCT calls for vigilance and mobilization. It urges the Minister of Territorial Authorities to “open serious negotiations for the inclusion of all workers”. The communiqué is signed by three major trade union figures: Mbaye Sow (SUDTM), Talla Faye (SUTRACOL) and Abdou Lahat Diagne (SUTRACOLS). They all reaffirm their commitment to defend unceasingly the interests of all the workers of the territorial collectivities.
