Exclusive: Amoo States Remo Stars Need to Secure NPFL Titles Twice Before Considering CAF Champions League Victory

Former Shooting Stars coach Fatai Amoo stated that before Remo Stars can consider winning the CAF Champions League, they must first establish dominance in the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL). He shared this insight in light of the clubs that recently represented Africa at the Club World Cup in the United States. It is worth noting that Remo Stars secured the top spot in the NPFL with 68 points after competing in 36 matches, achieving 21 wins, five draws, and 10 losses. Amoo discussed this perspective during an interview with Completesports. According to a statement from com, Remo Stars performed admirably in the league last season; however, they emphasized that it may take the team two to three years to achieve the same success as Enyimba in the CAF Champions League. From a professional perspective, it will be challenging for Remo Stars to mirror Enyimba’s accomplishments in the CAF Champions League. However, everything is achievable. Additionally, in an exclusive interview, Dosu expressed his anticipation for thrilling matches from Wikki Tourists, Barau FC, Warri Wolves, and Kun Khalifat in the NPFL. “As a coach, observing the level of other African teams and what we witnessed in the recently finished Club World Cup reveals that Remo Stars will face a tough challenge. I am aware that Remo will make some tactical and technical changes, but the limited time available will make it challenging for them to attain the desired outcome.” If they indeed enhance the team’s strength and reclaim the NPFL title, I hope that in two to three years they could reach Enyimba’s level. “From what I’ve observed, they have performed well domestically, but they still need to improve for continental competitions. Furthermore, with the recent launch of the Club World Cup, I anticipate that other teams will also bolster their squads, making it a challenging environment for Remo Stars.” I hope and desire for Remo Stars to triumph in the CAF Champions League.
