Rivers United has enhanced their lineup by signing Chinedu Sunday for the 2025–26 season. Sunday transferred to the Port Harcourt team from the newly promoted NPFL club, Kun Khalifat FC. He was a key player for Kun Khalifat FC during the Nigeria National League Super Eight Playoffs held in Asaba. Sunday is anticipated to compete for a position in the talented squad of the former NPFL champions. Rivers United is further strengthening their team in preparation for what is expected to be a busy 2025–26 season, which is set to kick off on Friday, August 22.
