Agradaa DENIED BAIL by the Amasaman High Court — Escorted by Armed Security Amid Crowd Reaction; Embattled televangelist Evangelist Mama Pat, popularly known as Agradaa, made her first public appearance since her imprisonment at the Amasaman High Court on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Agradaa is currently serving a 15-year sentence with hard labour at the Nsawam Prison. She appeared in court seeking bail pending an appeal, but the judge, Justice Dr. Richmond Osei Hwere, denied the application.

The judge instead ordered the Registrar of the Circuit Court to produce records of proceedings within 14 days to facilitate a swift appeal process.

Agradaa’s legal team had argued that the original trial judge, Her Honour Evelyn Asamoah, was biased, and claimed confidence in winning the appeal. They also assured that Agradaa would not evade court if granted bail.

Following the hearing, she was seen being escorted by heavily armed police officers into a pickup truck, with her husband, Angel Asiamah, walking closely behind. Her face was partially covered to avoid public exposure, but that didn’t stop the crowd from booing as she was taken away.

The incident has since gone viral, with Ghanaians flooding social media with mixed reactions. Some expressed sympathy; others criticized the legal strategy and public conduct.
