The Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko presided, this Friday in Thiès, at the closing ceremony of the training of 1 000 young agricultural volunteers, in the framework of the Agricultural Programme 2025/2026. These volunteers, from the 14 regions of Senegal, were selected from among more than 30 000 candidates who had applied online. In the end, 1 000 young people, including 250 women, were detained. “Un processus suivi par le ministère de l’Agriculture, de la Souveraineté alimentaire et de l’Élevage”, a précisé Ousmane Sonko dans son discours. “This is a process which is being followed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock”, said Ousmane Sonko in his speech. “You have been trained to be actors on the ground, relays of the State, facilitators of change, models of what should be the commitment of youth for the construction of our country.
