“The recovery has begun and continues. This week, I have convened the National Assembly for the vote of four laws against corruption “, announced this Friday the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, during the ceremony of the plan of economic and social recovery. Following his Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko, the Head of State has relied on a strengthened legislative arsenal to moralise public management and restore citizens’ confidence. The financing of this recovery should, however, weigh on public finances, with an expected increase in the national debt. For the President, this effort is a necessary step to clean up practices, stop embezzlement and restore to the State the means to finance its priorities.
