Hakimi is set to appear in court regarding allegations of rape.

Achraf Hakimi, the Morocco international and Paris Saint-Germain player, may face formal rape charges following a request from the Nanterre prosecutor’s office, according to reports from Le Parisien (via Tribuna). The allegations stem from an incident in February 2023 involving a 24-year-old woman who met Hakimi at his home after connecting on Instagram. She has since accused him of rape, and during a deposition in December 2023, she reaffirmed her claims. Hakimi has denied the allegations, alleging they are part of a money extortion scheme. PSG has publicly supported him and expressed confidence in the judicial process. Although Hakimi is currently under judicial supervision with a restriction against contacting the accuser, the prosecutor’s request for charges could lead to a criminal trial, pending the decision of an investigating magistrate. The victim’s attorney has called this move a crucial step toward justice. Hakimi is on vacation and was recently spotted with his former teammate Kylian Mbappe. He played a key role in helping PSG secure their first UEFA Champions League title, scoring a goal in their 5-0 victory against Inter Milan, making PSG only the second French team to win the title after Marseille in 1993. However, Hakimi faced disappointment in the FIFA Club World Cup final, where PSG was defeated 3-0 by Chelsea.
