​AfroBasket 2025: D’Tigress Defeat Senegal, Advance to Their Fifth Straight Final    

 

Nigeria’s D’Tigress triumphed in an exciting semi-final matchup against Senegal, clinching a 75-68 victory at the women’s AfroBasket in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire on Saturday. This win secures their place in the final for the fifth consecutive time, as they aim for a remarkable fifth straight championship. The Nigerian team has maintained an undefeated streak at the Women’s AfroBasket since 2015. Furthermore, this victory against Senegal marks their 28th consecutive win in the tournament. Despite being down by eight points at the start of the fourth quarter, D’Tigress demonstrated their dominance on the continent over the past decade by rallying to win by seven points. They will face either Mali or South Sudan in the final scheduled for Sunday, August 3.
