Health of reproduction: very good news for the wise women

The Senegalese government announces the recruitment of 220 sages-femmes, an initiative hailed as a major advance for maternal and child health. This measure aims at strengthening health coverage, particularly in rural areas where access to health care remains limited. It responds to a crucial need for support for pregnant women and newborns, who often face a shortage of qualified personnel. Recruitment is part of a process of strengthening the health system, with the aim of providing a more humane, equitable and accessible service to all populations.
