Liverpool’s manager Arne Slot acknowledged that while his team is showing improved attacking play compared to last season, they are also allowing more goals to be scored against them. Slot made these comments following their loss to Crystal Palace in the Community Shield match on Sunday. The Reds initially took the lead with a goal from newcomer Hugo Ekitike; however, Jean-Philippe Mateta equalized with a penalty. Jeremie Frimpong also marked his competitive debut with a goal, but Ismaila Sarr managed to equalize late in the second half. “We have created more scoring opportunities against a defensively solid team, but we also conceded two goals, similar to our match against Athletic Club,” Slot stated. We allowed a few more goals against Milan. “We must improve in that area,” Slot remarked.
