Alhaji Ayaana, a 65-year-old business and charity from Tamale, just completed an encouraging 250-kilometer journey from Kumasi to Accra to see the swearing-in of President-elect John Dramani Mahama on January 7, 2025. As acknowledgement for his passion, he was presented with a brand-new Renault vehicles and an unknown amount of money.
Kofi Okyere Darko, a well-known journalist and celebrity character, gave the vehicle to Kofi Okyere Darko, who is also known as KOD. Alhaji Ayaana is seen receiving the car keys in a video posted online before entering the vehicle for a travel. However, the movement has sparked combined responses from the government. While many online users praised Alhaji Ayaana’s efforts and KOD and people involved, others disagreed and questioned the necessity of the present.
Alhaji Ayaana’s some symbolic works include this one. In 1997, he walked to recognize the second-term opening of previous President Jerry John Rawlings. Two years later, in 1999, he organized a 16-kilometer harmony and health move in Tamale to encourage cohesion and well-being.
