Amadou Sané, a metallic welder, was arrested on Friday following an investigation into a suspected theft of pigs in the Lyndiane district of Ziguinchor, in the night of 9 to 10 August 2025. The incident, which occurred around 4 o’clock in the morning, left the victim bloodied, with multiple injuries to the head and face. This lynching is in addition to other cases similar to Lyndiane, including the case of Benjamin Coly suspected of robbery, who succumbed to his injuries after being beaten in the said quarter.
