The Ekiti State Police Command has charged Ogunrinde Temitope, 38, at the Chief Magistrate Court in Ado-Ekiti for allegedly stealing two phones. The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that the defendant committed the offense on January 6 at approximately 3:00 a.m. In the Ado community area of the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District, an individual stole an iPhone 7 worth N200,000, which belonged to Oso Samuel. Inspector Oriyomi also noted that this occurred on the same date and at around 4:00 a.m. stole an iPhone 12 Pro worth N480,000.00, which belongs to Bakare Simbiat. The prosecutor pointed out that the crime falls under Section 302 of the Ekiti State Law of Nigeria 2021. The defendant’s lawyer, Barrister O. G. Abiola, requested the court to grant his client bail, asserting that he would not flee. Chief Magistrate Mr. Abayomi Adeosun approved bail set at N100,000 with one surety for the same amount and postponed the hearing to February 6.
