​Arrested at Fatick: Three individuals arrested for trafficking in Indian hemp 

  In the framework of a security operation led by the Commissariat Central de Fatick, three individuals were arrested for trafficking, detention and use of Indian hemp. This intervention, which resulted in the seizure of 25 drug bags, 9 joints and a sum of 3 000 FCFA from the sale, highlighted the continuing efforts of the forces of order to combat drug trafficking in the region. According to the details provided by the authorities, the operation began when the police, on patrol, were alerted by a strong smell of Indian hemp emanating from a house located in the neighborhood. When they went to check the place, they found a prime suspect smoking a joint in front of the gate. An immediate body search revealed nine joints hidden in his pocket. The individual claimed to have acquired the drug for his personal consumption, but the investigations quickly allowed to identify and interrogate his supplier presumed in the neighborhood Darou Salam. A search of the supplier’s home was successful: 25 plastic bags containing Indian hemp were discovered, hidden in the toilets.
