The draw for the 2026 FIFA World Cup will take place on 5 December 2025 at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C., as confirmed by US President Donald Trump during an official announcement with FIFA President Gianni Infantino. This draw will mark the official start of the tournament, which will be held from 11 June to 19 July 2026 in the United States, Canada and Mexico. For the first time, the competition will welcome 48 teams, divided into 12 groups of 4. The first two of each group, as well as the eight best third-placed teams, will qualify for the last eight.
