Simone Ehivet Gbagbo, former first lady and president of the Movement of Capable Generations (MGC), has officially submitted her candidacy for the presidential election of October 2025 to the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI). She stressed the importance of a “fair, transparent and inclusive” election, calling for a credible and peaceful election. Simone Gbagbo expressed the wish that the choice of the majority of the Ivorian people be respected in the democratic framework.
