The Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock (MASAE), Dr Mabouba Diagne, announced on Wednesday the establishment of a project for the assembly of multi-brand tractors and agricultural equipment. In a note published on his account X, he indicated that his department, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MINCOM), had initiated a partnership dynamic whose aim is to federate the Senegalese private sector within a national consortium. “The objective is to develop a strategic partnership with the Turkish group Albayrak, with the support of the Exim Bank of Turkey, for the establishment in Senegal of a plant for the assembly of multi-brand tractors and agricultural equipment”, he said. According to Dr Diagne, a first working meeting brought together the various parties involved. These are the MASAE and MINCOM, the Albayrak group, the Exim Bank of Turkey, and a group of Senegalese companies composed of CCBM, EMG, SISMAR, Oumou Group and Diass Industries. It was also noted that the parties wanted to develop together the “All Tractors” programme to facilitate the access of producers to machinery services.
