Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, has urged political appointees and leaders in the state to focus on transparency, accountability, and inclusivity in order to improve governance and build public trust. He made this appeal during the opening of a three-day leadership retreat and ministerial briefing for commissioners, special advisers, and directors-general of government agencies and parastatals. The retreat, themed “The Advanced New Direction for Continuity and Consolidation to Strategic Development,” aims to enhance the skills of the appointees for better performance and productivity. Governor Ododo, represented by the Secretary to the Government of Kogi State, Dr. Folashade Ayoade, highlighted that the retreat reflects a shared commitment to the development of Kogi State. He reiterated that his administration is focused on productivity and infrastructure to establish a strong foundation for the state’s transformation. “We must now concentrate our combined efforts on positioning the state for greater success.” “That’s why I’ve chosen skilled people to help move this administration ahead,” Ododo said. The governor emphasized his belief that the retreat would enhance the leadership and ministerial abilities of the participants, promoting teamwork and ensuring lasting progress. “By working together, we can make great improvements for Kogi State,” he affirmed, encouraging the appointees to take advantage of the retreat to aid in the state’s rapid development.
