Court instructs DSS to hold ten suspected terrorists for 60 days.

A Federal High Court in Abuja has authorized the Department of State Services (DSS) to hold 10 suspected terrorists for 60 days while investigations continue. Justice Emeka Nwite granted the request during a ruling on an ex-parte motion presented by DSS lawyer Y.I. Umar, stating that the application was justified. He ordered that the DSS be allowed to detain the individuals until the investigation is complete, with the case adjourned until March 3 for further mention. The DSS identified the suspects, including Adamu Abubakar (aka Abu Aisha), Babagana Bashuli, and others, as members of a group reportedly attempting to create a Boko Haram/ISWAP cell in Osun. The suspects were arrested in Ilesa East LGA on December 16, 2024, under suspicion of terrorism involvement, according to an affidavit from DSS personnel.
