A builder of the future through education at the Madrassatou Darou Salam

In the village of Soréto, nestled in the heart of Senegal, a remarkable initiative has illuminated the local educational landscape for more than a decade. Imam Abdoulaye Keïta, a respected and committed figure of the community, founded in 2012 the Madrassatou Darou Salam, a Franco-Arab school that harmoniously combines modern education and Islamic values. This institution, which literally means “Madrasa de la Paix” in Arabic, embodies the unwavering commitment of its creator for the education of young generations, despite the logistical and financial challenges. Originally from Soréto, Imam Abdoulaye Keïta is not only a spiritual guide, but a visionary community leader. Motivated by the desire to preserve cultural and religious identity while opening the doors of universal knowledge, he launched the Madrassatou Darou Salam in 2012. At its beginnings, the school operated in modest conditions, without solid infrastructures or significant material support.
