Farba Ngom, mayor of Agnam, was evacuated in emergency from the Special Pavilion to the Dakar Main Hospital, in the night of Wednesday to Thursday, following a malaise. The information was confirmed to L’Observateur by his lawyer, Me Baboucar Cissé. The same source recalls that this new medical alert adds to a situation already deemed worrying: several expert opinions, including that of three professors of medicine required by the Court, have concluded that Farba Ngom’s health is incompatible with detention in a prison environment. One of the reports even mentions the risk of “potential sudden nocturnal death”. “The special pavilion, which is supposed to accommodate sick prisoners, no longer offers the necessary guarantees because of the work of the Dantec hospital to which it is attached. In the absence of available rooms, patients are regularly transferred urgently to other structures, according to availability. I’m not sure. After receiving treatment, the person responsible for the operation was sent back to the Special Pavilion, where his conditions of care continue to raise serious concerns.
