The mystery surrounding the death of D. Trawaré is now lifted. The young man of 23 years, found lifeless on 8 September last in an auberge aux Parcelles Assainies, died of natural causes, eliminating all suspicion of criminal act. A thorough investigation to dispel the doubts. The discovery of the body of Daouda Trawaré, lying on the floor of a hotel room with traces of blood at the level of the nose and the mouth, had initially sown doubt, but L’Observateur: the investigation of the police of Golf Sud had allowed the hearing of two key witnesses: a prostitute who was with him, as well as a friend who waited for him at the bar. Their accounts, describing a violent bout of coughing and bloody vomiting after ingestion of an unidentified substance, had led to questions about the circumstances of the tragedy. Autopsy and toxicology concluded that he died of natural causes. In order to clarify the situation, the autopsy was entrusted to the medical doctors Pr Chérif Mouhamed Dial and Dr Mamadou Aliou Diallo, at the Idrissa Pouye Hospital in Grand Yoff. Their report, made public on 10 September, put an end to speculation.
