Authorities closed several bars and nightclubs in the city on Saturday, September 20, during a surprise raid by police forces. This operation, which was unexpected, marked the beginning of a new phase of the regularisation of establishments which accommodate large numbers of visitors. According to information obtained by GMS, this decision is part of the authorities’ desire to better supervise nightlife venues, which are often criticised for their non-compliance with the standards in force. This includes ensuring compliance with safety, hygiene and licensing regulations. The establishments concerned will remain closed until further notice. However, the authorities specify that places that comply with regulatory standards will be able to reopen their doors after verification. On the other hand, those who will not be en règle will no longer be authorized to operate. This measure aims to establish better control in a sector often considered too permissive, while ensuring the safety of users and neighbours. With GMS
