A Kankourang was arrested by the police, in Ziguinchor, on Saturday 20 September 2025, according to the Groupe Médias du Sud, following several acts of vandalism perpetrated in the Kandé Alassane district, on the occasion of an event organized to celebrate the exit of young circumcised. Vehicles, street lamps, house fences and electric meters were damaged by the accompanying persons of this mystical being.
