La Société Africaine de Raffinage (SAR) is the subject of an investigation by the Judicial Financial Pool (PJF), according to information reported by L’Observateur. The purpose of this procedure was to examine certain aspects of the internal management of the company, in particular the accounting, the order books and the strategic contracts relating to petroleum products. According to Le Quotidien, the investigators of the Criminal Investigation Division (DIC) were mandated to audit the coherence of the company’s financial operations and contractual commitments. The inquiry would concern amounts estimated at several hundred billion CFA francs. The current Director-General of the SAR, Mamadou Abib Diop, would have been heard this Monday in the context of this procedure. The hearing would have focused on the internal management and control mechanisms put in place within the company.
