The influencers Lamignou Darou et Boy Dakar, militants of the Pastef party, were sentenced to one month of prison by the Tribunal des délits flagrants de Dakar. Their affair dates back to 27 October 2025, when they had broadcast on TikTok videos deemed contrary to good morals. In these videos, Lamignou Darou violently insulted opponents participating in demonstrations for the release of detainees, calling them “prostitutes” and threatening to “castrate the men” present. In custody since 2 October, the two defendants had acknowledged the facts before the court. Lamignou Darou explained that he had acted under the influence of anger, in reaction to the insults against their leader Ousmane Sonko, specifying that his threat of castration was aimed at punishing the thieves of public funds. The prosecutor had requested a sentence of six months of prison ferme, invoking the gravity of the hate speech online, while the defense pleaded the excuse of provocation and demanded the clemency of the tribunal. The verdict pronounced on Monday 20 October 2025 therefore reduces the sentence initially envisaged by the parquet, with a sanction of one month of prison ferme for each of the accused.
Urgent: The verdict has been passed for Lamignou Darou and Boy Dakar
