Waly Diouf Bodiang, Head of the Pastef and Director-General of the Autonomous Port of Dakar (PAD), reacted strongly to the proposals made by APR MP Abdou Mbow during a press conference on Monday 10 November. In his declaration, Abdou Mbow had targeted the Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko et le Pastef on several topics, including the relationship within the Sonko-Diomaye tandem, the recent TERA-MEETING of 8 November, and the question of the hidden debt in Senegal. According to Waly Diouf Bodiang, the most serious attack of the APR deputy concerns the financing of the rally. Abdou Mbow affirmed that the Pastef had used public funds to hold its TERA-MEETING on 8 November. For Waly Diouf Bodiang, this allegation constitutes a “grave accusation” which the Member must prove. The DG of the PAD reminded Abdou Mbow of the legal consequences of such declarations: “Despite his status as a deputy, he is liable to a criminal sanction, unless he takes advantage of the variable geometry and the troubled orientations noted in the matter”, declared Waly Diouf Bodiang. Le responsable de Pastef sous-entend ainsi qu’une action en justice pour diffamation pourrait être envisaged if the député fails to establish the use of public funds for the financing of the event.
