​Hajj 2025: Senegal strengthens its cooperation with Saudi Arabia 

  On Saturday 11 January 2025, in Jeddah, the General Mamadou Gaye, Délégué général au Pèlerinage aux Lieux saints de l’Islam, signed the protocol of agreement of the Hajj 2025 with Abdel Fattah Bin Souleymane Mushât, the Saudi Deputy Minister of the Hajj and the ‘Umra. This document, which is fundamental for the proper organisation of the pilgrimage, incorporates the new instructions and provisions aimed at improving the reception and accompaniment of Senegalese pilgrims in the Holy Land. The protocol deals with crucial aspects such as quotas, sanitary measures, housing management and transportation. These agreements are aimed at offering Senegalese pilgrims optimal conditions, in accordance with the new Saudi regulations. Le Général Mamadou Gaye, accompanied by his two deputies, also participated in the annual Hajj and Umra Exhibition and Conference organized by the Saudi Ministry. These events offer a platform for exchange and strengthening of collaboration between the participating countries and Saudi Arabia, in a spirit of modernisation and efficiency for this central pillar of Islam. With this initiative, the Senegalese authorities reiterate their commitment to accompany the faithful in their spiritual journey, consolidating the quality of services and strengthening their collaboration with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
