Le calme nocturne du quartier Sam Notaire, à Guédiawaye, was brutally interrupted on Tuesday evening at around 9 pm by a drama that was both spectacular and disturbing. A 16-year-old girl, Aïcha Sow, fell from the terrace of a two-storey building and miraculously landed on the electric cable installations of SENELEC. Despite the altitude, she survived the fall. According to witnesses, before the accident, Aïcha Sow had entrusted her phone to a shop for charging, before entering the building opposite. The inhabitants and passers-by present on the scene reacted quickly, alerting the firefighters and the police. The teenager, domiciled in the Cheikh Wade neighbourhood near the Mor Fadam roundabout, received first aid at the scene before being transported by ambulance to the Centre hospitalier de Fann, where she was treated for serious injuries, including head injuries. The inhabitants still recall the scene with fear and admiration for the rapidity of intervention of the soldiers of the fire.
