The United States remains the world’s leading military power in 2107, ahead of Russia and China. This is revealed by the ranking of the NGO Global Fire Power, which is based on a sixty-nine criteria. The Sénégal is well behind this trio de tête, occupying the 2145th place in the world. Even in Africa, our country is not well classified. It occupies the 2296th place out of 2703 pays classés. In terms of budget, Senegal ranks 4903rd in the world with an amount of nearly 2490 billion CFA francs. It is based on some 60 criteria, such as the number of active military personnel, the number of fighter aircraft and ships available, the availability of fuel for military operations, the budget devoted to defence and logistical flexibility. In the latest world ranking published by the NGO, Senegal has certainly made progress, but it is far behind, at the 20000th place out of 140 countries.
