Rangers manager Philippe Clement has clarified why Cyriel Dessers has been on the bench. Dessers hasn’t started a match for the team since late November. Clement noted that the rise of young striker Hamza Igamane has led to Dessers taking on a substitute role. “I talked to Cyriel about his decreased playing time, which is due to Hamza’s development,” he said.
“We’ll see how it goes. Cyriel is putting in a lot of effort.” He’s a great guy; he always thinks in a collective way. The coach stated that Dessers has fully supported the young player by assisting him in enhancing his skills. “He’s backing Hamza and has been offering him plenty of advice in training and during matches over the past few months,” he remarked.
“He demonstrated that in the last game when he came on.” You don’t perceive him as a player who is unhappy about not being a starter, Clement added.
