
The Commander of 6 Brigade, Nigerian Army/Sector 3, Operation Whirl Stroke, OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa Chidiebere, has urged soldiers to guard against complacency and arrogance, describing such conduct as detrimental to the military profession.
He issued the caution on Wednesday in Jalingo, Taraba State, during the decoration of 42 newly promoted personnel, among them an Army Warrant Officer, AWO).
General Chidiebere urged the beneficiaries to demonstrate humility, dedication and integrity as they take on their new ranks.
He described the high number of promotions under his command as a privilege and commended the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General W. Shaibu, for approving the elevations.
He reminded the soldiers that professionalism, discipline, respect for human rights, and the protection of lives and property remained fundamental expectations of military service, particularly during operations.
Responding on behalf of the promoted personnel, Army Warrant Officer Anekwe Livinus, expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Army for the recognition.
He pledged continued loyalty and commitment to duty, and applauded the Brigade Commander for his exemplary leadership, assuring that the recipients would remain worthy ambassadors of the Nigerian Army wherever they were deployed.
