Senegal has entered a crucial stage of its economic development with the start of the exploitation of the Sangomar oil and gas fields of the GTA project, in partnership with Mauritania. These strategic resources promise important budgetary benefits, which are conditional on a structural transformation of the national economy. However, in order to maximise the benefits of this exploitation, it is imperative to set up robust management and control mechanisms. These systems must allow real-time monitoring of production parameters, proactive detection of anomalies and rapid adoption of corrective measures. The State, while collaborating with entities such as Petrosen and the Hydrocarbons Directorate, must develop its own independent control tools. These tools must ensure a direct collection of data from the installations, thus allowing the reliability of the reports provided by the operators to be verified in an autonomous manner. To meet the challenges associated with the complexity of oil and gas operations, the adoption of innovative technologies is indispensable. Real-time monitoring systems, combined with artificial intelligence (AI), offer a capacity for predictive analysis to optimize production, reduce costs and anticipate technical failures.
