​Farba Ngom: When le Fouta is dressed in defense of the accusations 

  In the face of the accusations of embezzlement of public funds brought against the deputy Farba Ngom, the Fouta community reacted with an unprecedented mobilization, testifying to an unwavering solidarity. On 23 January 2025, Agnam, its political stronghold, hosted a large-scale rally, bringing together thousands of supporters from different regions of Senegal and the diaspora. This rally, marked by the presence of influential political figures such as former ministers, deputies, mayors of the Matam region and cadres of the Alliance for the Republic (APR), illustrates the strategic and symbolic importance of Farba Ngom in the Senegalese political landscape. Me Moussa Bocar Thiam, mayor of Ourossogui, a pris la parole for denouncing what he called a politicized justice. He stated forcefully: “We reject all attempts at judicial manipulation. Farba Ngom is a key figure for the Fouta and for the Senegal. We will defend it firmly”. The demonstrators also expressed their indignation, denouncing a supposed attempt at political liquidation orchestrated by opponents seeking to neutralize an influential political actor. According to them, the prosecutions aimed at weakening Farba Ngom, a powerful ally within the APR.
