“We are not in a judicial situation. We respect the rights of Mr Mohamed Ngom, we respect his dignity, we respect his honour à sa dignité. It is not for us to judge Farba Ngom”. This is the opinion of Mr Abdoulaye Tall, President of the ad hoc commission which sat in plenary to lift the parliamentary immunity of Mr Mohamed Ngom dit “Farba”, following a referral by the Minister of Justice. Today, we find ourselves on 24 January, therefore two weeks after, that the plenary is convened to decide on the lifting or not of the parliamentary immunity of the deputy Farba Ngom”. In the light of the foregoing considerations, the Commission considers that it is appropriate to extend the period of validity of the Commission’s proposal to the period of validity of the Commission’s proposal. And this time, we have waited 48 hours before the convocation of the concert of parliamentary unity”. He adds: ‘The dossier which has been sent to us by the Ministry of Justice and all the documents giving access to this application have been made available to all the members of the Commission, that is to say all the members of the Commission, including the lawyers chosen by the Member who sent me a letter in reply.’
