Nasarawa United head coach, Abubakar Arikya says the Solid Miners deserved to beat Shooting Stars, DAILY POST reports.
The Lafia club recorded a 1-0 victory over Nurudeen Aweroro’s side in a Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, matchday 16 tie on Monday.
Substitute Moyi Hassan scored the decisive goal for the hosts in the 34th minute.
Nasarawa United reclaimed top spot on the table following the win.
Arikya stated that they played better than the visitors.
“We deserved to win because we played better, without undermining the efforts of our opponents who gave us a run for our money,” Arikya told the club’s media.
“We will turn our focus now to our next game against our next door neighbours, Plateau United, next weekend.”
