Eric Chelle, the head coach of the Super Eagles, has expressed his team’s ambition to win the upcoming 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco. Nigeria has been placed in Group C, where they will compete against 2004 champions Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania. The Super Eagles have a strong legacy in the tournament, having previously claimed the title three times in 1980, 1994, and 2013. The recent painful 2-1 loss to Côte d’Ivoire in the 2023 final still lingers in the memories of both players and fans. Chelle stated that his team is determined to succeed this time. “Indeed, achieving victory will be challenging with 24 strong teams and several exceptional coaches,” Chelle said to Cafonline. “I have a team eager for redemption, and I feel the same way, so we expect to enjoy the journey. We are aware of our team’s potential, and we have a clear objective—to secure the trophy in Morocco.” The Super Eagles will kick off their campaign against the Taifa Stars of Tanzania in Fez on Tuesday, December 23, as reported by Adeboye Amosu.
