Video – Two Young Girls Allegedly Steal GHS 40,000 And Gold Bars In Twifo Praso

In a shocking turn of events in Twifo Praso, Central Region, two young girls, aged 15 and 8, have been accused of stealing over 40,000 Ghana cedis and gold bars from a local dealership. The theft occurred on Tuesday, 28th January, when the girls visited the shop under the pretext of buying mercury. While the shop attendant briefly stepped away to attend to other tasks, the girls took advantage of the situation.

CCTV footage shows the older girl, dressed in yellow, sneaking behind the counter and unlocking a drawer with a key left inside. Meanwhile, the younger girl remained seated on a brown sofa, keeping watch. After accessing the drawer, the older girl grabbed a black polythene bag containing the stolen money and gold bars, which she handed off to her younger accomplice. The two girls then left the shop unnoticed.

The shop owner, Enoch Boateng, only realized the theft hours later and expressed frustration over the loss, which he said would significantly affect his business. The incident was reported to the Ghana Police Service, which has launched an investigation. Authorities are calling on the public to assist with any information that could help locate the suspects.
