
The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed a fire outbreak at the Rogo General Hospital in Rogo Local Government Area, according to a statement issued on Thursday, 11 December 2025.
The release, signed by the Public Relations Officer, ACFO Saminu Yusif Abdullahi, stated that the Emergency Response Unit, under the leadership of Director Alh. Sani Anas, received a distress call at about 14:36 hours from one Abdullahi Ahmad Rifan, reporting the incident.
Firefighters from the Karaye and Rogo Fire Stations were immediately mobilised. Upon arrival, they found a one–storey building measuring approximately 400 x 400 ft engulfed in flames. The affected sections included the Physiotherapy Clinic (CMO), an MEU office, the Dental Unit, the Out-Patient Department, the ACC/Card room, the DOT Office and the Laboratory Office, all located on the ground floor.
According to the release, preliminary investigations indicate that the fire was triggered by an electrical spark. It added that further investigation will be carried out to determine the full cause of the outbreak.
The Director urged members of the public to exercise caution, especially during the harmattan season, and to take preventive measures to protect lives and property from fire disasters.
