In a post on his Facebook page, Guy Marius Sagna, a Member of Parliament, stated categorically that “the ECOWAS must recognize the AES as an entity and put an end to the infantilism that consists in negotiating with each of the three countries that are Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger”. On 17 September 2024, the parliamentarian had suggested the holding in the best possible time of an AES and ECOWAS summit to define the bases of a common cooperation.
