‘I’m Hoping The President Remembers Me And Gives Me An Appointment’ – Comedian DKB

DKB, a Ghanaian comedian, has spoken about his hopes of getting a political job under the existing government, citing a wonderful experience with President John Dramani Mahama that had a big influence on his profession. He explained how Mahama’s open acknowledgment of him as his favourite actor was both stunning and heartbreaking during a conversation with Kojo Daasebre on The AM Club.
He laughed as he said,” I’m hoping to be remembered by the President and am waiting for an interview.” When the President said I was his favourite artist, I had shivers. One of my life’s most incredible experiences.
DKB, a vociferous NDC admirer, described how during a performance at the Youth Safari celebration at Go Marina, his connection with the President strengthened. He recalled how Mahama spoke to him in full detail about Pepe Pepe and Fighting in Ghana, two of his well-known skits. ” I had chills. I mean, I’m getting the memories from talking about it. Do you folks see what I’m seeing? It’s been purposeful on my part. You receive these honors and public acclaim when you perform your work effectively for a while. I feel like it’s all moving in the right direction”.
DKB is a newcomer to the social scene, but he still believes that his chance will arise. ” I’m new to the place, but when things settle down, they may remember me. Oh, they came around. Visit the bathroom council”, he joked, referencing one of his sitcom sketches.
